Elementary Tournament Results

Contact Persons:

2-3 Grade
Tina Loose is the “room mom” for the 2-3 grade wrestlers and should be contacted for any Tournament information and Tournament sign ups.

4-6 Grade
Sandy Sanchez is the “room mom” for the 4-6th grade wrestlers and should be contacted for any Tournament information and Tournament sign ups.

Attire:

Wear shorts and t-shirt or a singlet. A singlet is a one piece garment worn by wrestlers. Black singlets with the Hempfield logo are available for purchase through the Booster Club at practices. They are not mandatory for practice but tournaments often require a singlet. Wrestling shoes, although advised, are not mandatory. Street shoes are not permitted on the mat, so bring a change of sneakers. Wrestling shoes can be purchased at most sporting goods stores.

Tournaments:

Tournaments are held on Saturdays or *Sunday throughout the county. Tournaments are available at various skill levels and are not mandatory. The elementary program is instructional in nature; the coaches will help athletes prepare for competition, but it is up to the individual wrestler and his family to decide upon tournament participation.

*Sunday Tournaments are not the norm, but there may be one or two you might want to go to.

Grades 2-3

Where: Hempfield High School Wrestling Room Enter from the Buchanan Gym entrance.
When: *Dec. thru Feb. / Practice Tuesday & Thursday 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Doors open at 6: 15, practice begins promptly at 6:30.
Allow enough time to change shoes.

*School closed for snow etc. then practice is canceled.

Grades 4-6

Where: Hempfield High School Wrestling Room Enter from the Buchanan Gym entrance.
When: *Dec. thru Feb. / Practice Monday & Wednesday 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Doors open at 6: 15; practice begins promptly at 6:30.
